Extended Care

EXCEL (Extended Care Enriching Learning) is available every school day from 6:30 am until 6:00 pm.
Participation in the program is optional and is limited to Blessed Pope John XXIII Academy students from Pre-K3 through Grade 8. The reasonable rates for this program are paid monthly.
This program is staffed by certified teachers and aides who provide structured activities that encourage knowledge and community. Most popular with parents is the Study Club, which enables students to complete their homework with the help of a teacher or a peer tutor known as a study buddy.
Arts and Crafts, playground activities and standardized test preparation for Academy students are some of the other well-liked activities.
Effective 9/1/2012: Before Care is held in the school cafeteria and After Care is usually held in the Lower School building (the After Care program location can be changed due to school functions – signs will be prominently posted if the location is, or will be, changed for a given day).
Before Care begins at 6:30am and the fee for Before Care (for non Pre-K students) is $5.00. Before Care participants who are in the Lower or Upper School should report to Morning Assembly at 8:00am and all Pre-K students will go directly to their classrooms.
After Care for the Lower and Upper School begins at dismissal and ends at 6:00pm and all students MUST BE signed out by an adult (no exceptions). We ask that you kindly contact the school if you will arrive after 6:00pm and there will be a $5.00 late fee due at the time of arrival. After Care will be charged as follows (shown on a per month basis):
